I don’t think responders were trying to be mean.
I’m also not sure if they got that volunteer work isn’t always easy to come by. Tried applying that way in the past without so much as a “thanks but no thanks.”
But I believe I found a way around the b.s. discrimination.
What people like or don’t like I guess doesn’t need to or perhaps couldn’t be sensitive to anyone’s personal feelings, past or present.
For their part, mostly they were just being honest.
Can’t stand “Why don’t you have a job, everyone knows schizos get a fair shot?”
