up for another day. watched the 1st round of the nba draft last night. celtics got a couple shooters. woke up kinda early at 6am for some reason, slept just ok. im still in quarantine, although i feel fine, never really had any symptoms other than the headaches, which were likely nicotine withdrawal.
not much to do today, dad wants to move his boat into my barn today, donāt know if it will fit in there or not. what a hassle. all the time something with that boat.
I got my first rejection email for a job application this morning. Very exciting for them to actually respond since its just to say Iāve not been offered an interview.
We are going over glucose regulation pathways in class this morning and expounding on the complications that arise from elevated plasma glucose levels. I would highly reccomend you dont take that drug, not only will it increase your chance of diabetes mellitis type 2 but it will lead to insulin desensitivity as well as a myriad of other complications. Suffice it to say glucose is regulated in the body by three processes- gluconeogenesis& glycogenolysis, uptake by skeletal tissues, and action of insulin & counter regulatory mechanisms. By taking this supplement, you are effectivly alrering the homeostasis of all three of these pathways. manifesting consequences that become irreversible in time. *DONT TAKE THE SUPPLEMENT
so celtics passed on cassius stanley in the 2nd round. damn. they picked 2 point guards last night, one from oregon and one from isreal. i think he would have fit in nice as a perimeter defender and 3 point shooter. o well. pacers ended up picking him, so i guess there is that. i donāt think he will be a star or anything, but he could be a solid 10 year pro i think, role player.
dad is going to go get me some groceries, i have another 7 days of quarantine i guess. just to be safe, iāve already been isolating for about 10 days, but supposedly mom was still contagious so i will have to wait longer. i donāt go anywhere usually anyhow, just the gas station to get a lottery ticket and diet coke, and also the grocery store once a week.
Good morning, yāall! Well, itās morning here, about a quarter after 10 am. I finished my morning cup of coffee, feeling pretty good.
I donāt have a lot to do, might be in for a boring day. I had been thinking of getting my hair buzzed off today and going for chili mac at my favorite diner, but Iām not getting paid until tomorrow. I have enough money if I use my debit card at the diner, but whatever, Iāll probably wait until tomorrow.
Maybe if I go tomorrow I can also go see my former dog, whom is now with my ex-gf. My ex-gf is a real piece of work, has borderline personality disorder, but we get along better now than we did when we were together.
A similar effect can be had by eating lots of oats.
Seems like it increases insulin sensitivity as well.
I mean, why wouldnāt it? Insulin signals the liver and muscle cells to take in glucose from the blood. The less inhibition to the uptake due to reduced intermyocellular lipids, the less insulin needed. Insulin sensitivity increases.
Good tool in the treatment of diabetes.
āManagement of diabetes includes: control of blood glucose level and lipids; and reduction of hypertension. Dietary intake of beta-glucans has been shown to reduce all these risk factors to benefit the treatment of diabetes and associated complications.ā
I dont understand your logic. I dont think you understand what your reading. glucagon releases glucose from storage into the bloodstream., insulin functions to remove high levels of sugar in the blood to put them into the cells. the article you quoted is in the case of an already diabetic patient. Im talking about how it will lead to diabetes. the pathologies are different. further the influence of somatostatin regulates this by delta cells. so an increase in glucose plasma will result in an increase of insulin release to relower the blood levles. high levels of insulin in the blood is lonked w dmt2
Whatās gumming up the door locks on our muscle cells, preventing insulin from letting glucose in?
Itās fat. Intramyocellular lipids, or the fat inside our muscle cells.
Fat in the bloodstream can build up inside the muscle cell and create toxic fatty breakdown products and free radicals that can block the insulin signaling process. When that happens, no matter how much insulin we have in our blood, it wonāt be able to open the glucose gates. That causes blood sugar levels to build up in the blood."
Beta Glucans dissolve that fat, which is how it works to raise energy levels. Reportedly it gives a person a sense of clean, sustained energy, rather than a jittery, stimulant type of energy. It is not a stimulant.
Please give this some extra regard, since youāre entering the field. This is an overwhelming cause of diabetes.
Todayās gonna be a big eating day folks. I can feel it in my bones. Plus Rosy my monthly visitor told me so⦠I really donāt like her. @anon51377248 please keep me in your thoughts my sister in the food struggle.
For example, intracellular hyperglycemia stimulates diacylglycerol-de novo synthesis causing an excessive activation of protein kinase c which increases production of proangiogenic molecules as well as profibrogenic molecules. this results in neurovascularization thickening. end result is depositions of extracellular matrix of basement membrane of glomeruli and diabetic retinopathyās
Insulin resistance is caused from high levels of blood glucose during extended periods of time. glucagon releases glucose into the blood stream causing exactly that
further in the case of hyperglycemia manifesting as a progressive inclusion towards developing dmt2 amyloid plaques deposit on beta cells due to focal atrophy. the result is fibrosis necrosis and death of the insulin producing cells. this is because of high levels of glucose in the blood. which can be attributed to diet or in your case suppplementing with glucagon
@gcar. Question: My son is a type 1 diabetic. He canāt eat whatever he wants obviously. At the same time heās always hungry right now cos heās going through a growth spurt. Is there a way he can eat and at the same time keep his sugar in control? Heās almost 11 and he wears a monitor and a pump.
