Hi all - I have some sarcosine I bought like in 2017 or something. Do you think it would still be OK to take it now?

It should have an expiration date on it. Do not use expired medication.

I highly recommend not taking expired medication just because a stranger on the internet said they also did it once.

If they say it worked for them and the effect of the sarcosine was retained too I would do it in a heartbeat. The expiry date isnā€™t the Bible on when something goes actually bad. Itā€™s often more to do with legal regulations than anything.

Then you are free to make your own decisions. I can only highly recommend not taking expired medication based on the advice from people on the internet. If you are curious, you can call a pharmacist.

Thanks for the tip. I doubt they really know what sarcosine is here, but I can give that a try.

One more thing. Sarcosine is NOT a medication. Itā€™s a supplement.

Supplements are just as potent and potentially dangerous as medications but arenā€™t as heavily regulated.

Well sarcosine for me gave no side effects like medications did. I ordered mine from BrainVitaminz btw. It says somewhere on their site that the shelf life is around 1.5 years. So hmm ā€¦ For now Iā€™m trying betaine anyway, that one didnā€™t expire yet. What Iā€™m trying to do is get the same effect I did from sarcosine a long time ago (2016), like my brain was suddenly able to remember how certain things worked before and pick up on new things instead of things getting suffocated in some weirdness. Just more able to stay in reality really.

If you canā€™t find it anywhere and can wait, there is a lot on eBay. I bought the cheapest which is from chinese labs, 250g for 20$ free shipping.

Weird I just searched and not many sarcosine on ebay. They even removed mine, I bought it last month. Its because of corona.
