I have some Latino neighbors that I am friends with but honestly they treat their animals like ■■■■. they have two in one kennel and then another bigger dog on the other side of their yard in a fenced in kennel. the one dog howls in loneliness. It is such a sad sound…I want to go over there but I know better…the two dogs in the kennel next to my fence I can go and pet them every day and they are so hungry for love…sad sad.

hey I think your cool… I skipped this topic because it has the words sad and dogs in it… my neighbors treat their dogs the same… I feed them all of my left overs and give them all the bones …its not enough for 4 large dogs though…

@jukebox If you are friends with them, please consider talking to them about your concerns. Maybe they’ll start taking better care of their dogs if they know you’re watching. Or maybe you could work with them to find the dogs a new home.

I like you, jukebox. I just woke up and got on the internet. I would have responded sooner if I had woken up sooner. I don’t think getting off your med’s is a good idea. I’ve done that myself, and I’ve seen a lot of other people do that, and it never has worked out. If your med’s are bothering you then maybe you could talk to your pdoc about a med change. Going cold turkey off the med’s is dangerous.

i think i had a neighbor who kept their dogs in a cage for prolonged periods of time and eventually the animal patrol came and took them. Is that an option? An anonymous call?
I had a friend who was a horrible narcissist and she had 10,000 dollars in care credit (credit for use with cosmetic surgery or pet care), and she gleefully spent it on a tummy tuck while her dogs had various illnesses like crusted eyes and severe, life-threatening obesity. I told her to take them to the vet but she was like, it’s too expensive. That was the end of the friendship, I was so sick of her selfishness. I considered reporting her to the animal patrol, but I never did and now I don’t know where she is or where her dogs are or if they’re ok. Always will regret not reporting that.

I’ve been offline, because we are out of data for the month. I’m at my Dad’s now though. I can’t get online at night.
My mom used to feed pizza to this lab who was tied up in someone’s front yard. He would always perk up when he heard her car.
