I had a brain MRI not too long ago. MRI’s are not that bad from my experience. YOu just get to lie there and relax for the most part. You might get a bit antsy if it takes awhile but that’s about it.

PS. here is a picture ot scare the bejeezus out of you.

When I went through my worst hypochondria phase many years ago, I was convinced I had a brain tumor.

I got a CT scan and it came back normal.

Wanted a MRI done too, but never had it done.

I’ve done a few Mri’s. It’s noisy as heck and your in a restricted space but they give you ear plugs. I actually got to ask for the music I would listen too it one.

It’s good to have done and rule out things so try to stay relaxed and they are professionals. Just stay calm. It’s not too painful and you can do it.

Try not to worry too much @roxanna An MRI scan is pretty straightforward. You have to lie there and remain still while wearing foam earplugs (since the machine is pretty loud).

I’ve had to have an MRI for bone cancer. They keep telling me; it’s arthritis. But I used to work in a lab, and about a year ago, I had an interview in one, and it made me gag. Other things had also. Arthritis doesn’t make you gag, and when I felt it going into my brain, I was vomiting. Now I forgot your question. May have to edit this. Oh, if you had pancreatic cancer, you would have pain in your navel. It might radiate towards your back. Can’t remember. I didn’t think the MRI was that loud, just makes weird noises.

I have not had one. My husband has had many though. He used to have to get them yearly. He didn’t mind them at all. I hope this helps. I wish you all the best @roxanna

This may sound a bit odd, but I kind of like the MRI machine sounds (with the sound dampened by earplugs of course). I periodically get brain and spine MRIs which take 30-45 minutes since they do scans on me both with and without contrast. I just close my eyes in the machine and listen to the whirring, banging, clanking, etc. It almost has a nerdy tech rhythm to it.

That’s true moon. I’m afraid of lasers but the MRI isn’t like that. He did it with contrast this time. So the needle hurt a little. It took 45 mins. I closed my eyes majority of the time.
