Good stuff man. What kind of guitar are you playing?

It’s a Yamaha Pacifica standard plus. I guess you could call it the budget version of the Yamaha Pacifica professional but it’s an incredible guitar. I really wanna try the professional but I doubt I’ll find one in the wild that’s been set up properly. This is the exact model and color.

Cool guitar. I dig the Strat style guitars with humbuckers. I have a Chinese one I got cheap but haven’t messed with it much. I usually play Gibson style guitars.

I grew up playing strat style guitars I’m a sucker for the neck middle setting. Gilmore used it a lot.

Yeah I was the opposite haha. My main influences when I was younger were Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath, but I dig Strats more now than I did when I was younger. I’ll have to mess around with the middle setting on mine. I want to get a Univibe so I can start playing some riffs with a Hendrix/Trower vibe.

I was a huge zeppelin fan but my biggest hero when I was a kid was Clapton so I went the way of the strat. I haven’t listened to those kinds of bands in sooo long. I might have to force myself to sit down and listen to the stuff I started with for old times sake.

Sweet. My fav Clapton is the Cream stuff and Derek and the Dominoes. He sold out and went lite after that imo.

I’m the same way now. I’ve gotten into way more different stuff the last 15 years. I still own most of stuff I loved as a teen. What kind of music/bands are you into now? Its definitely worth going back to that stuff, might get some old inspiration from it.

A couple of my favorite bands growing up were Pearl Jam and the Misfits but I haven’t listed to either in years. Kind of want to see Pearl Jam on their upcoming tour but tickets are stupid expensive and out of my budget.

Agreed. He had a couple good solo albums like 461 but overall he plummeted after he stopped collaborating. Right now I listen to a lot of fusion, a lot of prog metal and a lot of sound tracks. The sound track to persona 5 is incredible. Tom Quayle is great but he doesn’t put out a lot of actual music. He mostly just teaches and demos. The sound track to final fantasy 10 is also amazing.

Cool, I’ll have to check out 461. Never picked that one up.

Yeah I’ve been getting deep into the fusion stuff too. Mostly US and Euro stuff from the early 70s. Need to start going down the Japanese rabbit hole.

I usued to listen to a lot more metal 15 years ago, but stopped paying attention since most new bands are ripping off the classics. Theres still good stuff coming out, but there’s a lot of mid stuff. Any good new prog metal to check out? I like Animals as Leaders, Scale the Summit and instrumental stuff like that.

Nice, I have P5 in my video game backlog, but I don’t have the attention span for 150 hour games like I did when I was younger. Some of the old school VG soundtrack stuff is dope.
