I have applied for part time paid work and waiting to hear
Really nervous haven’t had paid job for around 14 years
I wish you good luck!
Good luck! I hope you get it
Good luck. We’re proud of you.
are you sure you are ready @shellys12 even pt work can be hard for us
i am trying to do that but i am working closely with my care team and i am getting a lot of support for it, i have been out of work for 12 yrs as well
My partner and I have talked about me going back to work, but she doesn’t think I’m ready. Neither does my doctor, I haven’t worked in over 5 years.
That’s pretty ambitious to try to work after a lay-off of 14 years. I hope you get the job. All you can do is to put out an effort and do your best
That’s great! I just recently started working a “normal” job and I love it .
I think that if you maintain a awareness of your limitations you’ll do great.
That’s what I do and it seems to be working.
What’s your job, petester?
Im a housekeeper at a local motel.
Cool. I would take that job if I needed to.
good on you
take care
**Hope it goes well for you @shellys12! **
I am Confident that you will prosper in any job in which you have confidence.
I was disabled for more years than I care to remember, and then let my confidence literally drag me into an even better job than before.

i wish you all the luck in the world but seriously Id rather be unemployed living on disability, all this ■■■■■■■■ about getting back to work, tell them your schizophrenic see how soon you become an object of curiosity for every prck with an nvq in psychology, a recruitment agency got wind I was schizophrenic, the phone went dead, and if you do any work, oh you dont know what your doing, f*k work
I think that what you are saying is counter productive.
i see a woman on a week this tuesday to see where i am at and if i am ready for doing some light work, its called permitted work and i’m hoping it will be ok, i dont want it to affect my benefits and it shouldn’t and i heard i could earn about an extra 100 a week so hopefully keeping my fingers crossed and little steps to achieve my goals
Good luck to you @shellys12 - hope things work out for you
Things not worked out on job front
Basically I have no confidence to approach agencies as I still have schiz issues. If I don’t have confidence they surely wront have confidence in me
I like to feel I’m doing some kind of work so I’ve been doing two mornings a week at charity shop I have been there nearly a year now
Thanks for this really positive view to working petester. D x
