We need technical diagnosis and cure of sz too…
Where are we indentifying the culprit gene behind sz…!!
This look like a story now…
Only god knows when…
Thank you for posting @GentleSoul
108 genes have been identified.
It’s not one gene.
Interesting article. Too bad they didnt test the eye muscle.
I actually was diagnosed with an eye condition that was later connected with schizophrenia. My parents were told to never let me drive as a result and they made me do so. Now even though I am free of my Mother’s watch my financial condition and what I now recognize as problems with my eyes probably beyond that keep me from getting a car. I forgot the name of it but it is a visual perception problem that makes it difficult to judge distances. I was angry at my Mom and stepfather for a long time because it was not something the optometrist could find and the more specialized doctor who found it was not my doctor anymore and not around to explain it. I have accepted it now but wish there was a ocular device for that type of condition. Not being able to drive really made it harder to have a normal life along with the schizophrenia. However the more I learn about SSI and the cost of my illness the more I accept that it happened.
Interesting. I’ve a big hole in my left visual cortex and a smaller hole on the right. These are unusual.
I definitely think the eye is important bc my eyes changed when i got unwell, they were unfocused, fixed, strained, tense
I reckon you could diagnose someone by doing tests on the way they look and perceive things through the eyes and also the muscles in the eyes.
how did you get a hold of your brain scan photo? i wish i had mine lol
looks kind of horrible though lol (no offense)
I had the scan done as part of a research study and they gave me a copy of the MRI data as a reward for my participation.
thats pretty cool what did they say about your brain? lol
i had an mri done on my brain but i think it was just to rule out brain tumours and things
No offense taken. I’m as easygoing and laid back as a Jamaican priest.
No feedback was given to me about the MRI. However I did a cognitive abilities test battery for an hour and they said I was smarter than they (the researchers) were. I do well cognitively.
haha thats funny, its like the staff in my clubhouse, i think i have more knowledge and experience than them, i’d probably be a proper support worker or OT right now if the college gave me a chance stigma sucks.
Thanks @twinklestars…!!! I am still waiting for big breakthroughs. .!!! We want better medication thats it…!!!
I haven’t read the article but whenever I’m psychotic it’s possible to see it in my eyes. My pupils get dialeted, even (sun)light can’t shrink them.
@YoungSchizo is cariprazine available in the europe…!!!
All I know is that my eyes light up with joy off meds. I don’t get that anymore which is sad to me. Thinking back, I may have been psychotic lol
Pretty sure those are your eyes.
Edit: Oh you mean those ones. Enlarged ventricles?
