Relationship Between Objectively Measured Sedentary Behavior and Cognitive Performance in Patients With Schizophrenia Vs Controls

CONCLUSION: Our data suggest that higher levels of sedentary behavior and physical inactivity are independently associated with worse performance across several cognitive domains. Interventions targeting reductions in SB and increased PA should be explored.

You are a mine of information @firemonkey I appreciate your posts.

This is an interesting study, however, I take any study about physical activity being a kind of cure-all panacea with a healthy dose of scepticism. Why? Because government health policies regularly co-opt them for purposes which hurt genuinely ill people so that governments do not have to take responsibility for their citizens’ real mental illnesses. By saying, “Oh, you just need to exercise more,” Drs. put the problem onto the patient again. It’s sad because physical illness is sometimes a false indicator when the root of the problem is mental illness.
