Relapse when transitioning meds to abilify? lack of negative symptoms or mania?

At what point do you find yourself needing to halt the med change and go back to what works although with side effects.

I have had drugged feelings and vision
(over) activity - i.e. cleaning the oven, cutting stuff back in the garden, 4 washes, a workout, all this and more - wanting to do another workout although it’s 10pm (out of character unless psychotic)

I am in the middle of switching to ability which has much fewer negative symptoms for some people

lack of motivation might be lifting but otherwise it’s mania… is it sometimes hard to tell transitioning to abilify?

I’ve had full paranoia, along with degenerate behaviour in town. although this could be normal since i’ve had
a lot of trauma and shock in the last 3 weeks (mum was hit by a car then dropped by the ambulance staff on the way back to hospital to get the cast changed, bruising her ribs and making her almost unable to move and is still in considerable pain)

voices are going through a more disturbing few weeks

walking 17500 steps a day as well as gym classes

if i think of any more i’ll come back thanks

You chose to try a new med for a good reason, so I think you should give it a chance.

I tried changing med to abilify once, but I just couldn’t sleep on it, and I was working at the time and needed to sleep. So, I only gave it a few days, and went back to the old med.

I kind of regret it now, because I would probably have had fewer side effects on abilify, but it was stopping me from sleeping.

Speaking of sleep I need some now, g’night

I just switched to abilify I’m on my second day. So far I’ve been feeling lethargic and had strobing last night before bed.

I am also transitioning to ability from zyprexa. Into week two and it’s tough going, lots of nausea and sickness, insomnia, migraines. I’ve totally changed my diet, not that I can eat anyway, I’m also trying to tire my body out due to restlessness by hitting the gym. Not much else I can do apart from playing the waiting game, I’d like to be able to do the things I used to enjoy like painting or playing video games, studying etc. Hopefully this is the right med for me. Wishing you well :slightly_smiling_face:

Cool slider. Yeah it’s been a month and a week now and it’s working pretty good. I actually don’t feel like eating anymore now which is good. It’s how I used to be. And am loosing weight. No symptoms at all. This is all I ever asked for in a drug.

Slider???
What’s that.
