Recovery Thread

I’d just like to hear about people’s recovery, if they have. Also if you haven’t recovered and want to talk in this thread, I don’t care.

I have been schizohprenic for 20 years now and am finally doing good. I am on meds than work well ( abilify, chlorpromazine and zoloft). I will be clean and sober for 3 years next month and the combination of that and being on and taking the right meds have made all the difference for me. Just 7 years ago i was hearing voices nonstop and not in touch with reality at all. I even tried to overdose at my lowest point and i am so glad my suicide attempt was not successful because i am actually happy for the first time in a very long time. If u are having a hard time or new to schizophrenia only i can say is hang in there it can get much much better.

I have not recovered, but I am young and fit, I am certain that in the future
a cure is delivered and then I can spread my wings and fly.
Even now, with my condition not so good, I am trying to do the maximum.
I plan to make friends and diversify my activities.

Same, I am 18 and I keep fit at home, I’ve started to go outside a bit more and take more vitamins so I am hopeful for the future.

recovery is quite a huge goal. for now, my sub-goal is to survive. another one is to make sure I’m not a threat to myself or other real-life people.
