first mention of a recovery college at our clubhouse, open for anyone and not just members, ran by members but not by the clubhouse (if that makes sense) anyway i’d love to get involved, i’m going to try and share the prospectus listing all the classes that may be available but its early days.
it was something that i could potentially help run within the clubhouse, i would be paid as a tutor using lived experience as a base model for peer teaching, it would be separate from our clubhouse with another charity taking control so it shouldn’t break any clubhouse standards. (i sometimes think we are walking a fine line around some of the standards) but only in a good way. and it would be open to all.
you get a certificate but its all about well-being and self improvement (recovery is more important than a piece of paper) still it looks good on the cv and it should be a lot of fun, it is early days though.
yes, i was working today and i’m trying to build my hours up so its a tep and they are taking it slow with me (its basically a type of back to work rehab) and i may have another one lined up in January as a cafe barista, it has been taking me a long time to build up mental resilience, i have tried working in the past but things didnt work out,
