Really vivid nightmares

I’ve been having really vivid horrific nightmares lately.
I don’t know why this is happening?

They are so bad, I am afraid to fall asleep!

I’ve been getting them every night for the last 2 weeks.

I thought that the Zydus brand risperidone was causing bad dreams but I switched back to my original brand I like and my nightmares are getting more graphic.

I hope it stops soon, they keep me up at night.

Any one else get frequent bad dreams?

I get frequent bad nightmares, and when I would wake up I would thinks that it is real. One time I thought my brother sold my soul to the devil because of these nightmares.

I used to but not lately. I think I’m pretty dead inside lately and don’t dream much.

I’ve been having them a lot lately. I haven’t changed my meds in years.

I like to think of it as the psyche dealing with issues.

I hope you don’t suffer too much from them though. It can be damn scary

most of my nightmares deal with paranoia that I suppress during the day…things only I know from my delusional period…the brain remembers the trauma of being sick I think and revisits that in our dreams sometimes…

My real nightmares are ones with insects. Those aren’t funny or fun in any way shape or form. I have those very rarely but they are no joke, I can remember maybe one or two and they scared me so bad. As long as there aren’t any insects in a dream I can laugh it off or find parts of it that are fun or strangely interesting.

I used to when I played a lot of online scrabble. I know that sounds weird but it did. Now I get psychadelic dreams but not necessarily bad. Just weird stuff.

Yeah most of my dreams are just strange, but lately I’ve been getting vivid nightmares.

Ever since meds, I don’t remember my dreams. Before that, when I started to get psychotic, my dreams were not scary, but bizarre.

If I don’t take abilify at the exact same time everyday (more or less) then I get vivid dreams.

The only time I had horrific dreams was on seroquel though.

Have you had any med dose changes ?

No med dose changes, but I recently switched risperidone manufacturers.

I found this online.

As noted above, the prevalence of frequent nightmares in psychiatric populations is very high, but this may be attributable not only to the psychiatric illness itself but to its accompaniments, namely substance abuse, therapeutic medications, medical comorbidity, and generalized stress

I am under more stress lately.
