Really? again?

my in laws and their little girl just started talking about getting another dog. so far they have two dogs, a cat, a parakeet and a guinea pig. i got upset when my father in law asked her who’s gonna scoop poop? and she said my name. everyone got a laugh out of it except me. its not fair. their little girl is only here on weekends. i don’t see them making demands on her to keep her pets. but for me to keep my crested gecko i have to keep the apartment clean to their standards.

she is 10 going on 11 this year. she should have some responsibility. i won’t kill her to scoop poop once a week. or clean the litter box. their little girl said something about leopard geckos.i much prefer a lizard over a dog. the lizard is kept in a tank and cleaning up after them is a breeze. but no she wants a chameleon which are known to be extremely moody and hard to take care of.they just have new pet syndrome they want the excitement of a new pet but none of the responsibility of caring for it.

You can say all of this to them. Stop accepting subservient status, @cbbrown. Every point you made here is valid.

my partner keeps telling me to just put up with them until we can move which won’t be until after she gets her license and a car. then she won’t have to get rides with her dad or mom. kay said when we move we will probably get stuck with their cat and their shih tzu. they don’t take care of either animal. kay and i talked about getting the shih tzu her shots updated and spayed. but i can only get one certificate for a cheap spay or neuter because i’m on medicaid and food stamps. the in laws want me to get the certificate for them for all three dogs.

last time we got over ran by pets they made me get rid of them all. i had next door in the apartment. four cockatiels, a tiger salamander, three dogs, two axolotls, a uromastyx and a painted turtle. two of the cockatiels were theirs they also had an axolotl, two dogs and a turtle over at our apartment. i just know its going to happen again
