Really?
I thought the red poppy was to remember our Vets who fought and died for our freedoms.
Why must the LBGTQ Community stick their noses into every facet of our lives? You’re gay…we get it…now get over yourselves.

Oh boy! I hope you don’t get suspended over this
you’re a jackass
Why would I get suspended. I don’t care if someone is gay…
It might come across as homophobic
Leave our Vets out of the sexual politics is all I am saying.
We’re not even ‘sposed to talk politics here silly.
what does it hurt you if someone uses the symbol of a poppy, it doesn’t hurt the vets in any way. You’re being a hate monger.
Using our Vets as political pawns is simply wrong in my opinion.
It’s a symbol for lgbtq veterans. Hope that clears things up for you.
Oh sorry, didn’t mean to reply on a closed thread. Ignore me.
@anon39054230 this is ridiculous.
LGBTQ people are not trying to hijack the poppy symbol or Remembrance Day. This is not a thing. You can read about it here. I have no idea where you get your news from, but I strongly suspect that wherever you read about this would be a very bigoted and pathetically unreliable news source. I urge you to fact check stuff you read online, and to reevaluate where you get your news from, like any responsible adult would do before they post potentially bigoted statements on an online support forum.
Also, the US military, and other countries’ militaries, have a long history of discriminating against LGBTQ people. This is something we should be allowed to talk about without close-minded people whining about how it paints an unflattering picture of the military. Talking about this does not detract from vets, from Remembrance Day or from the poppy symbol. It is not “sexual politics” - and neither is the pride flag. If you find the idea that some people might possibly want to combine a symbol for how they had to fight for their rights with a symbol for how they had to fight for their country offensive, then you’re the one who needs to get over yourself.
You’re walking a fine line here and I will be keeping an eye on you. Please at least try to be respectful of LGBTQ people.
