I’ve been on quetiapine for almost 6 months and it worked amazingly on 50g for a few months then it started to wear off so I upped my dose to 75. Same thing happened again just after a few weeks and now I’m on 100mg. (My doctor says I’m allowed to go up whenever I feel I need it without consulting him) I’ve been on 100 for a month or 2 and am getting symptoms again. Should I keep upping my quetiapine till I hopefully reach an amount that works long term or change my medication? The emergency doctor I was seeing at the time originally wanted me to go on 400mg straight away but I stopped at 50 as that worked fine.
I am on 25mg Seroquel …!!!
I want Seroquel for sleep. I use another antipsychotic to deal with the schizophrenia.
I take 12.5 mgs. at bedtime.

I am also on seroquel…!!!
I’ve been on Quetiapine for over ten years. 400 x 2 daily. I don’t really feel it. I take it with 80 x 2 ziprasidone. It has controlled my symptoms for over ten years.
My doctor put me back on 100mg of Seroquel (Quetiapine) today and said 100mg is a very low dose. She said people go up to 800 sometimes. So if 100 doesn’t work, call your doctor to check and then increase to 200 if they say it’s ok.
Sounds like you may need to up the dosage. The higher the dose, the more it works like an anti-psychotic.
I would keep going up until you hit a dose that works, and continues to work. You have a lot of room until you hit the ceiling, so it is not a big deal to continue to up your dose. I have been on 800mgs at night for years. Good luck.
