I decided I will always just scoop up the lesser costing used books off amazon to sell in the store in town that is selling them for me…question is…the books cost around 6 dollars…unknown to the buyer, used so I am marking it down, but I think I will charge 15 dollars a piece since I go to the trouble to order, deliver and sign the books…am I being greedy? the books new go for 17 plus shipping.
If I remember, the book was written by you,
But you choose to be anonymous, right?
I’m sorry to have to say this,
However,
The book has zero added value with your signature.
It may be worth less for having someone’s name written in it because they don’t know who you are.
You could be anyone signing these books.
Selling the book will always make you some money, but the autograph will do nothing.
Could be different if you were acknowledged as the author and had high demand.
Sell them for their perceived value
Seems like a supply and demand issue to me. If you price them too high, they just wont sell. If they sell then they had the value to that person.
There is nothing wrong with pricing an item at a price people are willing to pay.
When it becomes more questionable is when people place NEEDED/ESSENTIAL items with limited supply at outrageous prices.
A book is not a needed/essential item and can be placed at whatever price you choose. If its too high, it just wont sell.
At least thats my opinion.
Whatever the market will bear. If the customer is happy and you’re making what you need then all is good.
