Question about hallucinations

Can you CONTROL your hallucinations? I mean sometimes I don’t understand if voice in my head is actually my own, or simply a hallucination, but from what I read the fact that I can control it, means it’s not.
But actually I remember that sometimes during psychosis I controlled several hallucinations - that’s why I am not sure…
I hope it’s clear what I want to say

I couldn’t control them but I made them angry on purpose many times.

Probably during psychosis I also had these times when on purpose I made hallucinations angry
Why I ask this, because I can stop the voice in my head whenever I want, but sometimes I am not sure if its my own self talk… maybe I am simply worried :worried:

My psychiatrist asked me if could hear the voices with my ‘‘ears’’. The fact that I told him I did, made him sure it was a hallucination. Does the voice you hear talks about things you a reading or thinking? Like maybe you are reading my message now and you hear it? It could be just an inner monologue if you do.

Now it’s clear it’s not a hallucination then… because I cannot hear it my ears, several times I heard it with ears was before falling asleep.

And yes, it always happens as I think, simply sometimes I believe (why this question Popped overall) when I overthink I get lost in my thoughts and then when I stop overthinking I think “was it actually me? Did I actually said that in my thoughts?”
Yeah actually it’s not voices then

In your case, how do you control them ? Can you make them appear and disappear or in some other way ?

The more attention I pay to my hallucinations, the louder they become. With therapy I have learned to acknowledge, ignore and distract. Medication also helps, though.

I cant control them at all. I have hallucinations i can hear with my ears and i have some that seem to be inside my head. Im not sure if those are technically hallucinations or not, but theyre no fun, i cant control those either. I just suddenly hear words echoing in my mind

I can’t control mine. I have intense visual hallucinations. They are much worse in darkness. They mostly go away after turning on the lights.

The visual ones are fleeting so I never control them.

I have one question… when I turn off the lights I also have some strange sensations, like reaally… not bright lights, blurred objects. But Idk if its actual hallucinations.
What do you see? If I may ask.

I remember during psychosis I almost always had illusions, never actual hallucinations…
Maybe few time I saw something similar to ghosts, but also very blurred and hard to understand what I saw at all.

Wavy vision in general, waves of light/color, geometrical patterns, shadow people that swim through the air, weird red hologram people and masks, spots of light, eyes, closed eye hallucinations of really weird stuff, visual snow on steroids, afterimages.

I can’t really make them disappear but by paying attention to them I can kind of start them. Also sometimes I can control what they say that’s about it

It’s a good thing I believe that you can control it that way  I read that very few people can actually control it by themselves
