Not a realistic question - but maybe…
Are there any foods or vitamins known to increase hallucinations?
Are there any that help decrease?
I’m trying to get through until my Pdoc Thursday morning.

Saw the pined post on the feed
L-Theanine works
I have some of that
Anti psychotics ?
I take that but need an adjustment
I avoid dopamine lowering foods like pears, mangoes, Cornish pasties, fennel seeds, flaxseeds etc, and I only have them once in a while when I need to go out because they help my anxiety but have to moderate them
Sarcosine?

I use a supplement named Amyloban 3399. It’s expensive. It is the fruiting head of the Lion’s Mane mushroom. It somehow boosts the function of my AP so I am able to get by taking less of it while getting the same relief of positive symptoms, and with fewer side-effects. The cheaper Lion’s Mane supplements haven’t worked for me. Just going off the APs and using the supplement on its own doesn’t work, at least not for me.
This also doesn’t work for everyone, probably less than half of people. It gives some extreme anxiety, so try it with caution.
I’m going to look into this. Hoping it works! if not I’ll at least be a nervous wreck
But seriously, thanks!
I never thought about dopamine lowing foods
Now that’s some food for thought
I do love mangoes and pears - tough love
A request… PLEASE make sure you do this with medical supervision. Lion’s Mane has neuroprotective effects and also moderates dopamine in studies. Which is to say that there may be unexpected interactions for some individuals on various head meds. It’s best if your doctor knows what you’ve been up to in case there is some sort of crazy interaction no one saw coming.
Oh wow, yes there is a lot involved there. I don’t know if it’s worth it but will run it by my doc to see what they think. Maybe something down the road.
