Psychology Today - When Jokes Aren't Just Jokes

I did chuckle when I read this…

Joking aside. I hope that no one feels the need to take sides. I am keeping myself to Family as much as possible as there is where I do the most good. No battle. lol there is no emoticon for a white flag…

No, there is no battle. Just one lame comment from me that I regret posting.

While sexist/racist/bad jokes are poor comedy, being offended is a personal choice.

All great comedians, have offended at least one person.

you can’t make everybody laugh like you can’t please everyone when you tell jokes but i wouldn’t say comedians intentionally try to offend people, people need to laugh at themselves some times aswell i would say.

I think joking is ok as long as it isnt racist or sexist…
I have mentioned before here I didnt like the Polish jokes that abounded in the north east since my Uncle was full blood polish and actually very smart…
I thought the 3 people to change a light bulb joke was downright stupid…
then a funny thing happened last year, all with non polish people… a guy was having a hard time with a fluorescent light replacement and almost dropped the bulb so 2 other guys came over and one held the ladder, the other the bulb, while the guy on the ladder fiddled with the fixture… LOL…joke on the joke,
Strangely one of those smart blond girls I mentioned was also Polish

It seems like some of the greatest comics of my generation made a career out of being offensive. Richard Pryor. George Carlin. Chris Rock. Dave Chappelle. Eddie Murphy.
