Do psychiatrists get money off everyone they admit to clinics or hospitals? Like a kick back?
What country are you in?
I think it’s more likely they get kickbacks from pharmaceuticals to prescribe certain drugs…
Mine is generic.
No they shouldn’t
They get kickbacks from pharmaceuticals. You can check your doctor out here
Those figures look scary. Anyways I’m not in the state’s so it won’t work.
The paranoid thoughts just get to me especially when changing meds. Like why they doing it Alteria motives etc
Some psychiatrists work for pharmaceutical companies. The pharmaceutical company pays the psychiatrist for symposia, travel, hotel, meals, and to prescribe their antipsychotic at his or her practice. That’s why when you go to one psychiatrist you get a certain AP, but when you go to another psychiatrist you get a different AP.
Here’s a tip: If the clipboard has an advertisement for an AP, you’re very likely to be prescribed that AP.
i do not know.
I think there’s some truth to this but not as much anymore. They still buy em lunch and stuff but pretty sure kickbacks are very illegal. Only the shadiest pdocs do this these days. That’s what my therapist says and I trust her…to ease my paranoia at least.
My pdoc used to hand out clozaril to anybody with a psychotic disorder…he told me his son took clozaril and it did wonders for his son. But he didn’t realize it wouldn’t be without side effects For everybody, and clozapine should be a last resort
