Praying is pointless

I pray and pray asking for different things but every time the exact opposite happens. God used to talk to me. Encouraging things. Now he’s silent and seems to hate me or be angry with me. So I give up.

I don’t pray for events as much as I pray to settle my mind down, to regain my composure when I get upset.

I pray for that too but then it gets worse.

God seems to answer my prayers when I seriously put myself last for the good of someone else or the glory of God

Just because he is silent does not mean he is ignoring you.

You have to tackle your own issues, just like any good parent, he can’t guide you through everything, its up to you to take responsibility at some point.

sometimes god just wants you to answer your own prayers…I don’t pray anymore because I believe it should involve emotion/mental/direct maymbe even more things to communicate. I lack almost all of that… Some people don’t have strong faith and love at the same time…they just pray because they are in pain. I believe jesus said something like “is it not in your books that said you are gods?”

Yes, even theologians say so.
God knows what is best for everyone and therefore he can’t listen to your prayers that would lead to an inferior outcome.

God isn’t a wizard. Take care of yourself. Taking to god is like positive self talk. It doesn’t cure cancer.

Yeah I know you guys are right. I’m just so frustrated that things just can’t go my way once in awhile. Things not really in my control. Isn’t it enough that I’m both mentally and physically not well? Just want a break once in awhile.

Any time I used to see some football player kneeling in prayer over a touchdown in a football game I thought he was being way too frivolous about God. God has far better things to worry about than a stupid football game. Now I am seeing how someone who wants something terribly badly might pray for it.

It reminds me of that meme:

That’s terrible. God is Yankees fan not a Red Sox fan!

Seriously though that’s awful

I once prayed my mom a new house…she was living in a trailer home and said she wished she could have a new house and I went home and prayed constantly for like a week and then a downburst storm picked up the trailer a few feet and dropped it…the barn behind the house disappeared…anyways, mom got insurance money back to cover the loss of the trailer house and they had me design them a home back in 1995. She still lives there today…you can have power in prayer…it’s all about how strong your faith is.

Would you answer prayers from your creation and servant that thought you were bad? Just wouldn’t be right. God is awesome. Not trying to be mean but really , don’t you think so. God is love.

So, you prayed for a storm that likely did considerable damage to a lot of other people’s property, but cool, no problem because YOUR MOM is apparently the only person that matters? That’s ■■■■■■ up.

the downburst only affected my mom’s house…nobody else had damage…I wish you weren’t so angry at me. @LED her trailer house was out in the country with no houses around her.
