I pray sometimes, I believe it gives me some peace of mind, has praying helped you?

I hear mantras when I’m too anxious and they help a lot, I sing along sometimes, it’s a form of prayer right?

I find that my suffering doesn’t go away just becomes United into one cause.

I am praying constantly while thinking…I address my mind to God all day while awake.

I do not belong to any church, but I have one over 100 years prayer book Muukalaisen Kotielämä and this prayer book has many old prayers and I use this book to find suitable prayers.

I don’t pray. But my friend’s wife prays for me. Have not gotten any better from it. Maybe it should be me praying? I did pray when I was “dying” from morphine withdrawal. My grand father came to me and helped me through it. Don’t know if it was a delusion he appeared or if he really did. I was psychotic when I stopped morphine.

Prayed for help staying sober. Got it. Been confused ever since. Whenever I have to fill out a form asking for my religion it’s always a toss-up between ‘Jedi’ and ‘doofus agnostic’. Still refuse to take the bible seriously. Whatever grace I have received seems to be independent of belief systems that use fear to inspire their followers.

I like to put down ‘Judaism’ when I’m in the hospital because it means they have to order out for Kosher food, which is usually superior to the coloured slime you would normally get.

My little old payer book has many prayers that help a person believing in Jesus, I used to be like you, refusing to believe the Bible, but I have changed for good, my thinking is that if one person has been written and talked about over 2000 years, there must be some good in all this, I continue praying, I believe praying helps a person who prays, I do not believe in praying on behalf of other people.

There is also one benefit having an English Bible in my non-English speaking world, this helps me to maintain my English skills, I have not spoken any English in over 13 years, but by reading this Bible this helps me. Thanks some people for giving this Bible to me.

My local association for mentally ill has arranged some events for their members and in these events there are local priests talking about some religious matters, one of these priests is my childhood friend, when I see him in the town I always say hellos to him. Some other religious groups organize some beneficial activities in my little town.

Let’s face it, if praying made any difference we’d all be doing it. As for others praying for you, it’s sure it easier to do than actually helping you.

You are right that docs do not promote praying, but personally I feel it helps, I often think that religious people are nicer than those who are not religious, this priest whom I know used to visit the local psych ward and talked people there, I do not know if he is doing it.

I think that praying has many benefits. F.ex. when I lived in my auto in America over two years, I prayed every evening and morning, I think that this helped me a lot. I survived and never had any troubles. I did not get even a traffic ticket. There were people in the church of the UCLA (University of California LA) who believed that Jesus must be kept alive. There are all kinds of religious teachings in America.

YES ! ABSOLUTELY. THANK YOU FOR ASKING.

People expect God to answer their prayers and save them while still clinging to their wicked lifestyle. People want drive-thru window service; they approach prayer like they are placing a fast-food order. “I’ll take combo #3 please: peace, healing, with a side of salvation, and super-size my share of prosperity”, and then after having their order filled, drive off back into their sinful lifestyle. People seem to be okay for Jesus to be their Savior, but NOT the Lord of their life, so this is why God ignores their prayers.

“Now we know that God does not hear sinners; but if anyone is a worshiper of God and does His will, He hears him.” - John 9:31

God does NOT “change with the times” like many people want; for Him to distort His will so they can go on living in disobedience. People don’t want a heavenly Father who disciplines, corrects, or instructs them in the way that they should live. People want their orders filled, and to be able to go on living a wicked lifestyle that is offensive to God. “Give it to me now, and give it to me fast, 'cause I got places to go and people to see.”

“For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables.” - 2 Timothy 4:3-4

Have you ever found it interesting that the vast majority of the people claiming that God is a myth or doesn’t care about them, cling tight to their liberal values?

Jesus said, “If you love Me, keep My commandments.” - John 14:15

Let me ask you people something. How many of you actually obey God’s Commandments? How many of you obey God because you LOVE Him, or are you treating your relationship with God like he works for you - serving up your orders from a drive-thru window?

My prayers for peace were never answered until I repented of my sins, forgave the people that have wronged me, and accepted Jesus NOT ONLY as my Savior, but as the Lord of my life. Please ask yourselves what it is in your life that you are clinging on to that is separating you from God.
