Blood sugar has been running low all morning. Even without taking my glipizide, my bs monitor has been waking me up with low blood sugar warnings since like 2 am. It’s about 6am now.
I keep getting up, eating and drinking stuff, pumping my blood sugar up, laying back down…and then in an hour or 2 it wakes me up again. It seems to always do this when I work.
I am only on half my insulin, Jardiance and metformin now and it is still doing it.
Financing is nearing completion on house, I think. Ran into a snag on appraisal, though, which I posted about in another thread. Appraiser wants a window fixed prior to their final walk through.
Work is just work. I do it because I am need to keep savings up because of all the repairs Im going to need to do. It’s a bit better because now I’m only working 2 10 and a half hour days but the expectation for high speed there is kind of making it hard to enjoy it at all.
Are you eating a high protein snack when it drops? Drink juice and then eat a small amount of carb but mostly protein. Like yogurt, nuts, cheese stick, chicken, etc. Protein keeps the blood sugar steady once you get it up with sugar. Just eating carbs or sugar will make it plummet quickly and will turn into a yo yo effect. You already know this prolly but I love talking.
I don’t know much about diabetes but I imagine cheese and nuts would be a good one eh? Cause they have high fat content but also a small amount of carbs to keep things steady.
Cheese and nuts contain high protein. Proteins are necessary to keep the blood sugar at a steady level as it effects blood sugar slowly and carbs and sugar cause sugar levels to rapidly elevate. Trick is when blood sugar gets dangerously low you want to bring it up quickly, hence the sugar. But then you need to eat protein to prevent it from dropping low again and stay steady. Hope this makes sense.
