I saw one not long ago but it didn’t work. I think it’s been more than 5 years. I have had a cell phone for the last 20 years or so.

I’ve only had a cell phone for 6 months so I have had to use a payphone in the last 5 years. Usually though In the past 5 years I’ve just asked to borrow someone else’s cell phone, even stranger’s as bold as that may have been.

Last time I used one was in the navy back in 2016 when we were out to sea for several weeks and I called my wife on those classic ‘pay’ phones on the walls

  1. The town in SD had one for the truckers because there was no cell service until 2010 in our area. Was 75 cents a call, but you could still buy long distance phone cards at the gas station that owned the payphone. So my kids born in 2003, 2005, and 2006 know how to use a payphone, lol. And we still have a landline here in the house, only for the answering machine. My kids don’t have cell phones, can’t afford to add them to the plan, plus we have to pay for each phone cause Verizon is ■■■■■■■■ for their phones.
