I believe I got the tism too. I did some online tests and scored like 80% on all of them. The only thing is if I get another diagnosis it will just be another opportunity for my family to use doctors to manipulate me so I’ll pass on the dx for now. Would like to do so though so I can get help.

I understand. I might not tell anyone other than my husband. My mom and her boyfriend are very judgmental. I lost credibility with them having Sz. Here I haven’t done anything to them and my mom said I function so well you can’t tell I have Sz. Unmedicated is a different story though.

Anyway, good point. Thanks for sharing.

I see hmm yea being open about mental illness is brave but it has drawbacks. Sometimes it’s just best to keep it to yourself or a few people. Certainly makes for a more peaceful life. I don’t mean to sound negative but I’ve had trauma from the medical system. People taking away my human rights for me and speaking for me when I’m able to speak for myself. Unjust hospitalizations etc… just rather not deal with it. I’ll get it some day tho. Won’t change much tho cause it’s not like people with Asperger’s get medicine. Some take ability or antidepressant but I’m already on abilify so.

It’s kind of an obsession over many social media sites. I don’t mind people self exploring but the amount of things I’ve heard people chalk up to autism is annoying me. It’s good to talk openly about it at the same time, so I have mixed feelings.

It’s clearly a concern for schizophrenics because there’s some kind of crossover

Yeah I’m not dismissing it . There is a large cross over. In my research I came across a proposed diagnosis called multi complex developmental disorder that includes autism and psychotic symptoms , it’s pretty interesting.

Hmm that is interesting

If you’re interested. It’s not an actual diagnosis as of right now, I hope they further research the topic though given how prevalent autism actually is

I don’t have autism. But I do have ADHD and have to take medication for that. @HollyHobby

I came across MCDD a good number of years ago.

I think the webpage may no longer be available. Have done a screenshot of it.

I took a lot of online assessments. I don’t think I have ADHD or autism.

I have social deficits, which can be attributed to schizophrenia. I constantly mask, so people are dealing with my persona. This at least makes me pleasant.

My pdoc did a quick assessment of me, and diagnosed me with autism within the last 2 years. I think I want a second opinion sometime, but you have to jump through so many hoops just to get tested here. So idk, I tell people who need to know that I do have it, but I’m not completely sure.

I was told originally that I had that when I was like 14 when the doctor tried to get me help but he put that down because he thought I was faking psychosis due to my age he thought I had imaginary friends at 14 WTF :face_with_symbols_over_mouth: I know your not supposed to speak ill of the dead but dudes a quack anyway I got a few doctors say it’s autism it’s schizophrenia it’s this it’s that type thing mind you when I was stable they diagnosed me and told me yet again that I was faking and PRETENDING to have imaginary friends god child and adolescent pdocs here are crazier than there patients

Nope, don’t have it. Even been tested when I was young and doctors said I don’t have it, however, I do have schizophrenia, OCD, ADHD, anxiety, depression, and finally but certainly not least, PTSD. My psychiatrist also thinks I’m borderline, but my therapist disagrees with that, so I usually don’t put it in there.

i got diagnosed with autism when i went for my diability evaluation with a psychologist. he seemed sure. said i had all the symptoms. i still doubt it but i can see his point. my family also all agreed. they said “finally” pretty much. and one of my family members work in special ed and he said he always thought i was autistic.
