If you are talking like AI not allowing you to make certain pictures with their image generators, like they wont accept farts or breasts or groin or such as prompts, I dont know if you can really call that censorship as I wouldnt consider it really your own creation. You are free to draw your own pics of farts and whatnot without using thier software.
It still is a bit annoying that some fairly tame stuff is not allowed though.
I dont know if thats what you mean by “censorship with AI”.

Yeah that’s one of my beefs is the image censoring. It seems to me that they can’t handle our collective imagination which may have a lot of, as you say, farts in it. People are fun. AI needs to loosen up.
I know there are porn ai now but they creep me out, sidenote.

Yes, I’ve run into that problem multiple times, trying to create some pretty tame stuff.

In modification of the above pic I wanted to give monte bigger boobs and red eyes because of a comment by @Charles_Foster, as well. You run into these roadblocks alot. I would prefer if they were a little more forgiving of tame stuff, but its thier software.

It’s their software but it is ubiquitous and will be even more so in the future. I don’t know I feel like it’s an imposition on free speech.
I dont see how. No one is preventing you from making your own software or your own drawings.
and really, free speech only applies to government entities, not private software.

I used stable diffusion for a year with good results and was able to make images of sea monsters and demons and “hell,” which I found fascinating. Couldn’t do any of that on a public image generator. However I can no longer use the program because my laptop shuts down whenever I try to generate an image. Something about the new version is having problems with my power supply or running my graphics card too hot. It also sometimes randomly produced nudes unless I put nude in the negative prompt, but that may have been an issue with the models I was using.
The biggest disappointment is censorship of the good version of chatgpt. I asked for a script of a nightmare scene in a new nightmare on elm street and it triggered the censorship, then I figured it wasn’t for me. I signed up for a private one but my gosh is it much, much less smart and effective than the censored one. Real shame.

I guess we will see how deeply ai replaces things. If it does, I’m worried that the censorship inlaid in it could lead to some problems. But your technically correct.

If you ask Gemini for help with the plot for your murder mystery it will tell you the subject matter is too dark and you will need to write about something else if you want its help. All it can produce is romance stories.

You know you could pirate some of the latest AI with no restrictions, right?
I hope they censor it so much that it won’t make any pictures. I do art, hope you understand.
I would still technically considered censorship, that’s like watching a show that has certain scenes that were blocked and not calling that censorship because I never worked or created that show in the first place.

I hope they put a user fee on each use that is so high that it pays for everyone to have comfy UBI so we can make art while AI makes money for us.

The censorship is so bad with Bing’s chatgpt that any dismal story it writes always ends on a happy note of the hero finding hope and turning the whole thing into a victory for the kingdom, even if he’s like drowning or something lol. He’ll use magic and survive. It’s like watching a Batman movie.

I guess I was more thinking about he was considering it censorship of himself. Yes, AI censors itself, but everything it draws on is someone elses creation. I’m not sure I would consider anything AI makes my own when you can pretty much just put in a couple prompts at the current time and get output. Maybe when its more advanced and you have more control. IDK.
It’s fun to mess with sometimes, but as far as true creativity…ehhh.

I’d be more.worried about AI propagating false or biased information than about AI censoring farts.
