A little backstory: I started hearing voices about 6 years ago at the age of 30. I recognized them as people I knew in my life. My family saw me talking to myself and when I explained that I was hearing voices they took me to the hospital. About 4 years later the voice of my dead grandmother introduced me to this other voice, God. Since then I have heard God, usually at least once a day.
Lately he has been telling me that I am going to hell, that I am dead and evil. He has been doing this because I have been ignoring him, ignoring what he says and not carrying out his commands.
I just want to know the truth. I want to know if God is really talking to me. That is why I am asking all of you if he does the same with you. If he is really talking to me I want to right this ship and carry out his commands. If not I want to try and put this voice behind me, along with the rest of the voices that may or may not be real. My soul is in the balance here, please be honest with me.
that’s not God ! I heard the voice of Christ while I was delusional and He kept me from killing myself a couple of times…dismiss and ignore the voices that say you are dead and evil…you seem like a really nice and smart guy to me?
That doesn’t sound like god. I don’t even hear voices but I voted yes cuz sometimes i get closed eye hallucinations before falling asleep. Anyways when something divine communicates with me, it is a type of wisdom that I get through understanding a faint insight plopped before me.
Apparently the big bad nasty person or what ever it is, the thing that causes all the trouble everywhere well he can take the shape of anything so what you hear as what you think is God may not be that it may be that big nasty guy pulling all the strings,
we are suppose to be always on guard against this sort of thing, be vigilant and stay strong, put on the full armour of God of course we have other kinds of protection like meds for example fashioned by the hands of men.
No such thing as Hell my friend. God is aware of this so I doubt he’d tell you were heading there. Unless he’s messing with you, he can be a bit of a prankster sometimes.
For a brief time, I thought God was speaking to me in my head but it was a delusion. The brain researchers talking to me told me it was actually them messing with my head which is, of course, also a delusion…
The Bible warns that you should test spirits to see if there from God. I don’t think God gives commands to people like he did when he established his way to him. We have a history to look back on and know somewhat what God would ask of us and does ask of us today (the Bible). We don’t all know or study what God has said to us very well. But I think it’s safe to say that God is righteous and would only ask us to do righteous things. Also sacrifices are no longer valid as he has made the final sacrifice for us. But from what you have said I really don’t feal God degrades like you have described.
I only sometimes hear God Himself. I usually hear angels and demons. But just last weekend I was struggling with something that had happened and I was stressed and upset. I spent most of the day praying about it. God said one sentence to me in that afternoon that calmed me. It’s a long story so I’m not writing details, but He absolutely talks to me on occasion and it’s always something that makes sense. It’s always something simple and wise and to the point.
i see jesus sometimes but its when there has been a crisis , like a couple days before my daughter had pneumonia, jesus came to me; before i got the call to go and see her in the hospital, he didnt speak but just woke me up with the glow around him and his hand was going to touch my forehead until i suddenly jerked up to get up.

I personally think that God spoke to me in a dream one time, and that maybe I heard one sentence at a time in a dream that was from the Bible, but I’ve come to the conclusion that all the voices i used to hear, whether they claimed to be angels, demons, God, or Jesus Christ, were only demons. I don’t believe at this point that any of the voices I heard were anything but either demons or my own messed up mind. I mean, by the end of it they had me convinced that I had somehow started world war 3 and had to kill myself to atone for all of my sins. According to Christianity Jesus died for everyone’s sins. It doesn’t say that killing yourself is even a way of atoning for sins.
When God speaks to me, it’s never a voice. Just an urge, idea, a thought or a realization. I wish he would speak to me verbally, because I would really like to hear his voice. I’ve heard people say his voice is really beautiful. When he speaks it’s only ever my own voice talking.
They pretend to be God all the time. God has only been very loving and kind to me.
