Mine doesn’t. I saw them today. They never ask if I have whacky unusual beliefs (I do). They do occasionally ask about paranoid beliefs though.

Ya mine seem like they deal with plenty of schizophrenia and have no interest in discussing actual beliefs but are more behavior oriented
Mine usually asks if I’m feeling paranoid, if the tv talks to me, how my anxiety and depression are. That’s about it.
Mine doesn’t mention paranoia. She would ask me if I’m experiencing positive symptoms which includes paranoia in it
my doc never encourage me to talk
he always tell me to ignore and never talk about any thing
My doctor will ask me if I’m having any paranoid thoughts against my Father.
But that’s about it.
Yes she does. She spends an hour with me and she asks if I’m seeing colours or hearing voices or have any beliefs.
Mine asks how I’m feeling in real time.
My pdoc just asks me a general “How are you doing?” Nothing specific. I just tell him I’m doing good.
Yes, he asks me about my solipsism, matrix, Truman show etc.
“Do you still have this belief? How strong is it?”
Definitely, especially seeing that I don’t suffer from paranoia.
At this point, mine just reads off the standard questionnaire and then signs my script. I haven’t had and positive symptoms since I’ve been assigned to her, and my mood swings are mostly under control.
What’s the point of seeing a psychiatrist if they don’t even track your symptoms? Sounds like the 3/4 who voted “no” should really just be seeing their GP.
A good psychiatrist will know if your sensible, not paranoid by how you present. They get to know you and even over here with 15 minute sessions they get an idea of how you are.
I talk cricket. He likes cricket. I like cricket. We do the usual introduction…symptoms, etc then it’s cricket. If I’m sane and sensible it’s basically all good. If it’s not then other questions follow.
Our system is under the pump. Little time and many patients but it’s still something a good shrink will pick up on. It’s not ideal but it is what it is over here. 15 minutes tops. I’ve been seeing mine except for a 5 year break from 1993. We both know each other and the game pretty well.
My only unusual belief is that a psychiatrist is actually going to help me in some way.
Mine just asks me what I’m doing for rituals and Sabbats for my religion. Asks me how the kids handle having a Pagan Witch for a mom and an Atheist as a dad. We just say they choose their beliefs, the kids mostly follow me though, as they have full access to my bookshelves of spell books and whatnot. She says she’s never had a Witch as a patient, so she genuinely asks questions that I answer. She doesn’t consider it weird or delusional cause I started this journey back in grade school.
He says:
“Are you hearing voices?”
“Are you hearing any sounds?”
“Are you paranoid about your family?”
“…ok see you in 6 weeks, now gtfo.”
Sounds like my last date.
