Poll: Do you have the concentration to read a book?

I have enough concentration to read and comprehend almost any textbook I’ve read in college but I rarely read for pleasure except on the internet.

Yeah I can read a book. I just choose not to. but I can read and learn and all that just fine. No problem there. I do think I’m telepathic though because I hear some thoughts in my head not from me, but it doesn’t get in the way of my day. It just might make me feel self conscious about something I thought or the way I spend my free time. And I have the worst trouble trying to go to sleep.

I was reading novels and non-fiction like crazy for years but for the last 3 months I’ve had difficulty relaxing long enough to even open a book. It’s been due to things happening in my life and dealing with my diabetes for the first time as concentrating on what and when to eat has been eating up my time and the fact the high blood sugar made me feel sick before I was diagnosed.

It’s odd. I can concentrate enough to write and put together a put twice or three times a year (NaNoWriMo times), but reading? I have to be researching something specifically, and even then, I read in short “meditations.”
