Poll: Did you ever have a life threatening experience with a medication

  • Yes, I could have died
  • No

I think I messed up the poll…

Only with self-medication like crack.

I almost died trying to switch to Cloziril. I lost consciousness for a while at home alone and in the mental hospital my mother put me in. They said I hit a doctor. They said I went to a general hospital in an ambulance in a strait jacket. I have no conscious recollection of those days. They said I was delirious. They said I might have been suffering from PTSD after I recovered.

I attempted suicide while on citalopram. I also got arrested by seven cops before that…or wait was that after? That whole winter was a cluster ■■■■

Beyond suicidal on Edronax (Reboxetine (antidepressant)) Since put me down to being allergic to it in my medical file.

I lost almost all cognitive abibilties including balance and speech while on Abiliy.

I came down with something called orthostatic hyptotension while I was on clozapine, I got out of bed and immediately collapsed on the floor, it was a horrible feeling and had to go to the ER via ambulance. Apparently it’s something that happens when your blood pressure nosedives. It can be mitigated by getting up very slowly over a few minutes. It hasn’t happened again since that night after I started doing that.

Yes, I was allergic to one medication…

I nearly died of maligne antipsychotics syndrome and nobody did care.
