My son cooks for the family, and I got him a recipe book that has cheap recipes with no more than five ingredients per recipe. It works well.

I CAN cook. I use to cook sometimes when I lived alone but fortunately or unfortunately, my dad insists on doing all the cooking here. I don’t know whether he doesn’t trust me or he just loves it too much but he insists on doing the cooking here. I cooked when he was in the hospital for awhile.

I can still put a bun in the oven, if that’s what you’re getting at

I used to cook a lot for family and when throwing a dinner party (I used to be that guy). Regional Indian curries were my speciality, but I also enjoyed preparing risottos, polenta dishes, dhals and all manner of soups. Now I don’t cook at all. Once I move to my flat I’ll go for healthy easy meals and raw vegan dishes.

I figure if you can read—you can cook.
I mean a recipe is like building a model airplane. They tell you exactly what to use , how to use it, how much and in what order.

If they use a term you don’t know then look it up online.

And there’s a whole slew of recipes that are easy or simple, that’s what they’re called “easy recipes” or Simple recipes”. You can find recipes for dishes with just four or 5 ingredients.

I cook all the time because I don’t drive or own a car so, no restaurants for me. Besides, I like my homemade meals much better than what’s offered in the restaurants in this city. We are known to have more restaurants per capita than any other US city but all of them are lousy in my opinion. All are havens of sugar, fat and salt.

A LOT of very old, established, and well known restaurants in this town have permanently closed in recent years. Places that were pretty good. Replaced by really crap restaurants. So sad. And I feel responsible because I don’t frequent them. Whenever I don’t frequent any kind of business, it always shuts down.
