Thought about making a thread to post a poem everyday. Or every few days. Hope you like it.

Macbeth speaks to Seyton, his servant, after learning of Lady Macbeth’s death

She should have died hereafter;
There would have been a time for such a word.
To-morrow, and to-morrow, and to-morrow,
Creeps in this petty pace from day to day
To the last syllable of recorded time,
And all our yesterdays have lighted fools
The way to dusty death. Out, out, brief candle!
Life’s but a walking shadow, a poor player
That struts and frets his hour upon the stage
And then is heard no more: it is a tale
Told by an idiot, full of sound and fury,
Signifying nothing.

Christ
There goes another year in which I haven’t thought about You
Since I wrote my penultimate poem Easter
My life has changed so much
But I’m the same as ever
I still want to become a painter

Here are the pictures that I’ve done displayed here on the walls this evening.
They reveal to me strange perspectives into myself that make me think of You.

See what I’ve unearthed

My paintings make me uneasy
I’m too passionate
Everything is tinted orange.

I’ve passed a sad day thinking about my friends
And reading my diary

A life crucified in this journal that I hold at arm’s length.

Rockets
Frenzy
Cries
Like a crashing aeroplane
That’s me.
Passion
Fire
A serial
Diary
No matter how much you try to stay silent
Sometimes you have to cry out
I’m the other way
Too sensitive

I liked the poem so much that I’ve recorded myself reading it with my Russian accent. Lol :flushed: :flushed: but I think my pronunciation slightly got better

Well, I didn’t understand one iota of the lyrics, then I looked harder and guess what? It’s in Hungarian :slight_smile: Yeah there is a large community of Magyars living in Transylvania since the time it was a province of Austro-Hungaria, at some point was even conquered by Turks but they didn’t settle there. Only Germans and Hungarians have settled in Transylvania over the centuries.
Anyway the song makes me think of a cavalry battalion marching toward the battlefield.
EDIT: oh but it’s about love… weird :smile:

Very nice. But I discovered how powerful is to hear a poem reading… Preferably by its author.
Do you write mostly about love?

I don’t know if I do or not. I’ve written a couple about love, but I cover other topics too.
