Planning on getting an Associates in Software Development

I met with an advisor at my community college today and got a lot of info about their AAS Software Development program. It’s a 2-year (including one summer) program. I am choosing a Language Focus (as opposed to Web Focus or Database Focus). Nothing is permanent yet and I’m still considering a Web Focus.

I’m really excited that I finally have some direction in life. I just need to build up my focus/organization skills in order to do this. I love coding, and it will be enough money to not be broke all the time. I also love design and creativity, and I think I’ll incorporate those into my career.

that’s a pretty cool goal.

That’s great!!
I don’t want to work in computers, I prefer other jobs and activities.
But I wish you luck!
May you be successful in the studies and find a job, if you so wish and able to perform it!
My ideology is that people should be able to work for pleasure( not necessarily for pay )
and as much jobs should exist as there is demand for them.
Jobs should exist to serve people, and not the other way around.

If you make it you should have no trouble getting a job. Computer and tech skills are big these days. I will have to say that you need to know something about it ahead of time to have a realistic chance of succeeding because college is much faster than high school and the idea that you can learn something completely new in a few months is often a mistaken one unless you have a unusual ability to lean. I hope you make it.
