Picking aroniaberries last September (2024) was excellent, they grow in bushes and were free

I still eat these daily, they taste good and are as good as bush blueberries. Bushblueberries cost € 5.39 300 g and I eat aroniaberries 150 g a day, so I have saved appx. € 566 during this winter. I have kept these in my fridge’s freezer.

There used to be wild blackberries around here when I was growing up. I remember going into the woods a filling a container of them. There are not any around for a long time now.

I went to eat some blueberries last summer in the forest, aroniberries are very easy and quick to pick, I fill up one plastic bag just in 30 minutes once, we have also some vacant apartment buildings and in their yards they have appletrees, last August/September (2024) I picked also the great number of free apples. These are also rosebushes in the yards of these vacant apartment buildings and other demolitionized properties and one can easily pick red roses just for fun or to give to somebody. I have not tried roseberries much, but they may alsoi be used for something, could read Wiki.

Also picking mushrooms starting in the end of summers is great, I just had to go to my local beach and I found many good and tasty mushrooms, in 2003 I picked two buckets full of mushrooms and later fried these mushrooms in some self-made aroniaberry wine (not all though) in the following winter. Last fall I also picked rowanberries, I eat also these during this winter, all are free.
