Saying I am beautiful doesn’t make me beautiful.

Eating better, exercising, and grooming myself better make me more attractive.

It’s not your words that will solve your problems, it’s your actions.

Affirmations are an affectation of the confused and the lazy.

But tomorrow I’m gonna stop eating chocolate hopefully :no_entry_sign:

Not since the spy cameras I put in your bedroom stopped working.

Pro-tip: Don’t buy spy cameras off Temu. Total rip.

I agree that affirmations can’t change you physically but I think changing your thinking can change your behavior.

I’m a fan of trying to reframe things positively. When something doesn’t go right I think of it as a lesson rather than a failure. I can learn from what went wrong and try again. If something goes wrong and I don’t learn from it and just affirm how awesome I am and expect it to go right next time when I repeat the same mistake, there’s a word for me:

Moron.

I personally think if this reduces stress somehow it can help the body deal with the issue. This I personally think reducing stress can help the body preserver. I think and have heard that stress is scientifically proven to become harmful to the body.

Sounds like personal affirmations don’t work for you.

They do help some ppl. And for them, they aren’t just relying on words. They do act on it too. No such thing as magical thinking afterall.

True, I have heard the same thing, in particular chronic or acute stress

Some people think they are helpful, yet I see them going in the same circles for years demonstrating no actual progress.
