Ive read studies that say you can spot a schizophrenic by his gait.
My parents and friend have pointed out that I walk with my feet slightly inwards
I also stand with one foot behind the other facing sideways
I slouch too shoulders always forward. I shuffle when I walk because I want to get home asap donāt like being around strangers very much
I have experienced catatonia. It is pretty awful. You freeze in the most uncomfortable and bizarre positions, and you stay stuck there for ages. Thankfully this has only happened once since changing my medication.
I keep my head a little hunched over because Iāve had chronic neck and shoulder pain since my teens. I used to have a chiropractor who would adjust me and Iād walk out with my head high without even trying. 50 bucks per appointment was too much though. If I had a lot of money Iād see one again.
Years ago I had a nurse tell me he could tell I was schizophrenic by the way I walked. Iām not sure whether that was based on the effect medication had on gait.
As an inpatient other patients told me about the āThorazine shuffleā. I think they were full of BS
Iāve heard of that; the same is said about Haldol, with the āHaldol shuffle.ā
I voted bizarre. I never sit normally, and Iāve always had an inappropriate walking style.
I always lean forward and walk too fast as if my arse is on fire. Some woman once said my bum looked like it was chewing a nut lol. I think it more based on my anxiety being outside - so im always in a hurry. Its been mentioned to me before. lol
