I hear voices and have heard them for almost nine months now. My voices are nice to me, and I understand them in ways many will never understand them. I have a normal life with them and find them curious of many things. What symptoms must I meet to be diagnosed schizophrenic for the voices are my only symptom. Am I less SZ because I am not paranoid or that I have a wife and four children, work a 40 hour plus a week job as if nothing is wrong. As things stand I would never go in to be diagnosed. I come to this site to see what others voices are saying, because I want to understand them better.
When i comment on a post I am not trying to further someones psychosis but trying to understand the voices they hear.

I never said I have sz. I have a close disorder, but I nwver once said I had sz. I am attacked by people because of this, and I am not naming names, but you know who you are.

Its ok @psychoticteen. Just ignore people that make you feel that way. Honestly I don’t even care if there are sane people here even. If anything its to their credit that they are interested.

thank you. I would NEVER fake having this disorder, and I have no idea why people think this… I don’t want it, I wish it would go away. I wouldn’t even wish psychosis on my worst enemy, to be honest.

Isn’t this reverse paranoia?
Why would anyone want to prove they had SZ unless it was to get disability?
It’s like defending something that isn’t defensible. Negative credentials.
If there are people here who aren’t SZ, I don’t know who they are.

This is a forum for those with schizophrenia and related disorders(and carers/family members) . For me this would include those belonging to a psychosis or schizophrenia spectrum .
There is no single example of being schizophrenic or on the psychosis/schizophrenia spectrum. It is a heterogeneous not homogeneous thing .
If at any point someone has been seen to experience psychosis, whether mildly,moderately or severely, they should be welcome here.

Not sure why this topic has got so much attention. Whatever the case - we’re a web site that is open to all, but who’s focus is on helping people with schizophrenia, or psychosis, or anyone along the spectrum that thinks they can benefit from these types of discussions.
I think the original question that started this discussion was not focused on people here, so much as the broader population (at least that was how I read it). Whatever the case - its the Internet, everyone is anonymous here, we can’t tell if you have schizophrenia or not, and I don’t really care as long as you’re civil, and supportive of those who are here.
With that - please join in the other conversations. I don’t think that this conversation is adding much value to the site any longer.
