one girl without a mask was glaring at me in the aisle checking out…almost nobody was wearing a mask except for the employees…
My parents live in your area and have the same complaint.
I don’t think there’s anything you can do about it,
Just make sure to wear your mask and wash your hands.
It’s really all you can do.
If they want to die it’s their choice.
Its not just their choice, theyre making it for everyone else. Some people have immunocompromisations etc. that would put them at risk. Its a shatty thing to do
that’s similiar to here. im like the only young person with a mask on when i go out in this little town. sometimes the employees don’t even have masks like at the grocery store. most of the older people wear them but not all.
Almost everyone in my state (Nebraska), I notice are wearing masks. At least in my neighborhood. Both employees and people on the streets.
Grocery delivery. Online shopping. Haven’t been in a grocery store since February and doing fine. Social distancing at checkouts is not my problem. I take a mask when I’m out walking and make sure I’m wearing it when I pass others. Most aren’t, but I can still be responsible for me.
I’m thankful that wearing face coverings and masks is required in Alameda County, CA where I live.
Yesterday, I took my elderly mom to the optometrist for an eye exam and new glasses (because she had broken her glasses earlier this week). The optometrist had just re-opened this week after being closed for two months. It was by appointment only with very few people allowed in the office at any one time. We had a 6PM evening appointment. Temperatures were checked at the door, hand sanitizer was at the door, and everyone had to wear face masks, both employees and customers.
I then took my mom to the Trader Joe’s grocery store (the first time my mom had been in over two months since I do her shopping for her since the pandemic). It was 7:30 PM shortly before closing so very empty. Again, everyone was wearing masks and the number of customers in the store was strictly controlled as was maintaining separation of customers from each other and separation of customers from the cashiers and staff.
Here it’s like 50 prcnt of people wearing masks. In my part of England.
I had to get a pdoc and therapist note because anything near my nose or mouth I panic. I couldn’t have the oxygen masks while in labor with my kids either, I tried to run so they finally gave up.on it. When I went to pain mgt doc last week they basically set the mask 2 inches off my face to get me in the door with the note, and had me take it off asap. I had to take extra xanax for it, nurses and dr there were completely understanding. I have a reason I can’t have it, I can’t wear winter ski masks either or all that, tried a bandana. My face is a no touch zone, I don’t like kisses or anything close to it.
Some of us don’t mean to seem inconsiderate, but my panicking is going to cause more issues, so I do my 2 hour grocery shop outside house a week, and most appts are phone now but I do have the card. Carry it next to my heart condition card, so if I gotta get a bracelet that’s next.
@raelyn218. Not everyone is able to safely wear a face covering or mask; for example, folks with breathing difficulties such as COPD and small children. It sounds like you fall in this category as well.
The idea is to have the vast majority of folks who are able to safely wear a face covering or mask do so in public places in order to reduce the opportunities for the virus to spread. It’s an imperfect system but it’s better than nothing, and the virus will continue to spread if nothing is done.
Where I live, many people don’t wear masks.
Some do and I’m thankful for it.
I don’t venture off to leave my property not unless I’m going to my Dad’s medical center and there the nurses, doctors and staff all wear masks and gloves and the patients are required to wear a mask as well.
They will check our temperatures at the door.
In general I think it’s pretty selfish of those people choosing not to wear a mask.
