so im gonna take both my 80 mg pills at night i guess, i told the doc i am afraid of an overdose but he said thats not an overdose, also i am afraid to take the cogentin because he said i dont have TD so why would i need it if i dont have it i am still moving my tongue cutting it on the back of my teeth all day but i can control it for a little, i dont know what to do i have looked at the side effects and stuff for cogentin and i am scared to take it i see dry mouth, blurry vision, and reading from other people that have taken it they are talking about constipation, weight gain, and BRAIN DAMAGE WTF
sorry =(
I am on Geodon right now. All meds have side effects, does not mean anything bad will happen.
When I have a loose tooth, I always have my mind on it all day and checking and stuff. It is normal.
Not sure if anybody takes Cogentin
160 mg of Geodon is within the daily dosage (it’s the max), so no need to worry about an overdose.
I was reading some pretty horocious side effects from different medication s but geodon seems to. R the medication with least side effect and that is most unlikely to cause weight gain too.
I was feeling hysteria, intenseness, anxiety and other awful things the other day so have not been taking latuda because I think it is not a good medicine for me.
Olanzapine was better, more calming for me.
I have not been on medication for few days really just have sleep tablet if needed and have melatonin and sarcosine and calcium n menapause supplements and have ordered i theanine .
I might tell my psychiatrist I’m willing to try geodon but would rather go without medication.
Just keep your dr updated .
Good wishes to you.
Constipation and weight gain aren’t serious, you can always get unstuck or lose weight (also just because side effects are reported doesn’t mean you will get them) as far as brain damage, take the minimum dose to do the job. Alcohol causes brain damage for that matter, doesn’t stop people from having a beer.
I used to take all my Geodon at night and I would get psychotic every afternoon. But If you have bad negatives add Latuda it’s good for your mood and will compensate for the short half life. It is really expensive though if you don’t have insurance. My doc gave me samples at first and I noticed mood improvement immediately.
I had trouble taking Geodon in the morning at first but it doesn’t bother me anymore.
I have never had issues with my tongue but Geodon gives me tremors in my hands and I take two Benedryl every night and they went away.
@sigarino You could always try the cogentin on a trial basis to see if it helps with your tongue issue.
it seems dangerous i see a lot of people talking about how bad the side effects are also i read about a study of Cogentin withdrawal in schizophrenic patients and when they stopped taking it some of their psychotic symptoms got worse as well as the EPS returning
Don’t read side effects for meds…first off they are required to list any side effect ever experienced by anyone in their trial who took it. Even if it was just one person out of 1000 and there wasn’t any physical evidence what they were experiencing was actually caused by the med. Secondly, everyone’s bodies react differently to medication. So someone could have an absolutely horrific experience with a med that someone else has a wonderful experience with. Take it and see if it helps. I think you’re just anxious because you think if you take it and it works then you have TD, but the thing is if it works and helps you then it doesn’t matter that you have TD because you’ll have treatment for it.
I took 160 at night for years. It’s safe. Cogentin though? Make sure it’s necessary. Geodon has a lower level of extrapyramidal side effects than most of the other atypicals.
I think you have dystonic tongue movement or akathisia NOT Dyskinesia or Tardive Dyskinesia .
I took cogentin on and off for a while. It did cause dry mouth but the main reason I didn’t want to take it was because it said PMS on the pills. I wasn’t well at the time so I thought that meant it was making me angry because I had anger issues at the time. Besides that, I’m sure it has benefits but I still wouldn’t take it unless I needed it but that’s just because I only take the bare minimum of meds that are required. I never really gave it a chance I guess.
