Paying 19.99 for a will

Has anyone else done one of these cheap wills online?

I don’t want certain people to have a windfall when I die.

Want it to go to people who’re people I care about.

The list of people goes to people I don’t want to have it very quickly

:face_with_monocle:

Not meaning to be spiteful, but I want whatever I leave behind to go to good use

I suspect you pay for it in the small print

I’d get it done by a solicitor and pay for that.

Online cheapo-matic wills are something I wouldn’t trust at all.

Makes sense. Wanted to look at reviews but thought anyone not happy with the service is not with us to warn others

It’s like when you take out insurance and they beg you for a review the day you took out the policy

I don’t have a will, tho i should get one. I did put my mom on my car title so if i die she can sell it, and i bought a cremation plan. I also let my mom know where my cash emergency fund is located in my apartment. I don’t really have any other assets, either, so i guess that’s enough.

I was thinking this during covid and its still in my mind (just in case) i hope you not planning anything.

I heard it was a bit more expensive ‘possible into the hundred’ but not 100%, its good to put things in place,

I havent got much but i’d like what i do have to go somewhere nice, also, you might want to update it in the future so keep that in mind.

Most likely I’ll see an attorney about having one done

Mr. Star and I updates our wills after I got diagnosed with my brain tumor. We went through a regular lawyer, but we didn’t have to pay because he gets a benefit through his job. It was unpleasant to have to think about, but I’m glad we did it. We wanted to make sure the kids got enough to have a good head start in adulthood, and we had to declare a next of kin to raise Starlet if we died, and an executor to manage his inheritance until he came of age. Luckily, we didn’t end up needing that part.

I don’t think a regular lawyer would be much more than that online one, though. The lawyer we went through charged $60 USD for anyone not using a benefit program. I think after the exchange rate, that would be about $35 or so?

Thank you for the advice

I will contact a local firm and see what they charge
