Since the doc has mentioned the psychosis could be a result of autism and anxiety even my partner is trying to convince me I don’t have sz. it doesn’t help. I mean I was told I had sz, sza , bipolar etc. and then to be told it could be a result of anxiety and autism is hard to believe…
You don’t sound like typical sz,
but sz is unique in everyone.
And finally we can say that
each individual has their own
symptoms.
The important thing is to be
peaceful and happy.
Not the label
I know labels don’t matter, but I feel like im going round in circles… the docs all say different things.
How many doctors have diagnosed you?
Approximately 5-6 I’d say but I’ve seen more docs. This current doc I have seen for the third time…
Your case is not easy, i guess.
You may have autism and sz.
Is that possible?
Or you must have one or the other?
All the research I have done on brief psychosis says the psychosis lasts 30 days not more… mine lasted 6 weeks before being medicated.
therefore it seems like its sz, but I don’t know.
Psychosis is considered to be a spectrum now so people can have SZ and be on different parts of that spectrum like those with Autism (I am on the Asperger’s part of the spectrum, so there).
Your boyfriend should leave the medical stuff to the medical professionals.
I understand but the current pdoc seems to be pointing to autism and anxiety but I’m struggling to believe anyone.
The DX can change a fair bit, but the same symptoms all tend to have the same treatments. The label isn’t so important these days, right?
They did the same thing to me. Diagnosed schizophrenic bi-polar from 18 to 29. At 29 my psychiatrist told me I didn’t have a psychotic disorder rather than telling me I was recovering. Also the whole time my whole family denied I have it.
It’s kinda a slap in the face. First you have to acknowledge you do have it to recover and that’s hard enough to do without everyone denying it too.
None of it makes sense really.
Labels do matter
If your going to get better, they need to find the box quickly to put you in and make sure it’s the right one
Late diagnosis or even an incorrect one can be very destructive and can put you in danger
