Our life is full of poop lately. dog poop

we didn’t realize how much Max went number two until he started refusing to go out front on the leash…he will pee, but not poop. he must not go in the back yard where he really, really wants to go because he is now without any pain over his hurt ACL but we are giving him three weeks of going out front…anways…we leave the bedroom door open during the night so Max can number two in the kitchen where he always goes when we don’t wake up to take him out…sorry about this poop thread but there’s no apparent solution since he can’t go out back. oh, Missy is pooping in the kitchen now at night too…blech…what a wonderful morning we had this morning cleaning it up…looks like it will be this way for two and a half more weeks.

You really should never train a dog to go potty in your house.

Ever.

I mean, the other dog is just doing what you trained the first one to do.

You can’t blame them.

Why would you not just wake up and take him out?

And let him poop in the kitchen?

I’m so confused.

Am I misunderstanding?

Just get up when your dogs have to go potty.

You shouldn’t allow your dogs to shitt in the house!
Can’t you wake up on time and take them out in the back on a leash?

I don’t understand @jukebox?

I dont understand why he cant go out back. If he refuses to go out front, then take him on a leash out back. Its very unsanitary for him, and now Both of your dogs, to go in the kitchen.

This is … unusual. And unsanitary.

Why can’t the dog use the back yard?

This is what I came here to say.

Just take him on a leash in the backyard so he’ll do potty outside.

I don’t even like having a cat box in the house, but I’ve no choice over that. It gets scooped twice per day and a complete litter change every week. I’m constantly cleaning around the box with Dettol.

there are steep steps leading off our back patio to the back yard, also the whole back yard is down hill from the house and he has to sit down every foot or so when climbing a terrain…I learned this from taking him to close to a slope in the front yard…he can’t go in the back without possibly hurting his ACL again…believe me we wish he would just go out front…nope…still will keep him in the front at night…we don’t know why he won’t go in the front yard.

Have you tried walking him around the neighborhood?

Dogs like to potty in new places.

Put a pile of his poop in the front yard where you want him to go.

What about a Puppy training pad, you could put it in the front yard.

@Charles_Foster we don’t want him walking very far on his bad leg. @anon4362788 great idea.

he seems amazed that his poop is out there…haha…I don’t think the neighbor is very thrilled I’m leaving a heap of dog poo near their yard…too late…I’m not moving it until he goes…haha

My dog uses peepads for both. It hasn’t been a problem at all.

Max is using the front yard finally…was getting scared for us for a while there…haha

I taught my dog not to ■■■■ or piss in the house. Was not easy i had to get up in the middle of the night for a while.

I understand how frustrating it is when your dogs usual spot gets inaccessible, definitely has happened to me and I had some indoor accidents with my pit bull . It’s gross but it happens sometimes. My dachshund is pad trained so it isn’t a big deal with her. I don’t really understand the need to make a post about it though tbh ?
