Ouija Boards

I think paranormal stuff is scary.

Paranormal and roller coasters and bungee jumping terrifying for me.

My stepdaughter plays with the Ouija board. Now she thinks the house is haunted.

A ouija board was what started the whole damn mess I got into that ended up giving me ptsd. To this day I’m not sure if it just started the psychosis or if I really brought some nasty paranormal thing in the house. Regardless, I never want to mess with one of those again.

I was traumatized from reading the exorcist at the age of 12…I snuck the book away from my mom at night and would read it…scared me to death…there is a scene in the movie and the book that Regan is playing Ouija board by herself and when her mom tries to play the board tells her she can’t play…Captain Howdy I think was the name she used then…scares me so bad still…

Bought one for my kid when she was like 13, mainly to tweak my wife because she’s superstitious. The kid has yet to puke a ten foot stream of pea soup so I think the dangers were somewhat exaggerated.

(In the interest of honesty, she may have shot ten foot streams of other stuff out the other end when younger. Blowout diapers are definitely of The Devil.)

I would just tell them that you would not want an Ouija board in the house because it freaks you out. After all, your house is your house. Your mother-in-law does not have a place to jeopardize your mental health.

Ouija boards send me straight in to paranoiaville and delusiontown.

I agree with the others, you should make it clear to her you don’t want that stuff in the house.

I bought a book on how to use a Ouija board safely and wasn’t impressed. For one thing it said never use it in your own home, which for me seemed to suggest it was never safe to use at all.

The one thing that did interest me was that it said the concept actually dated back to ancient Chinese methods for contacting spirits. I’d like to read how the original practice was done safely. I don’t believe that all the dead are evil.

In fact, the other thing the book said, which is a very good point, is that before the exorcist film came out, Ouija was not viewed as something dangerous. Many Western spiritualists used it, including W.B. Yeats who even used it to compose/download poetry.

The main reason I am concerned for my safety is because of my condition of schizophrenia. I think for someone with a mental health condition, such things could be potentially damaging.

We had two of them growing up. Me and my two sisters. We played with them with no ill effects.

I didn’t get schizophrenia until I was 38.

There will be no big goals from you from now now on then??..Do you have any people you care about??

I practiced as a Medium and often used the Ouija board.
It’s no toy and should not be taken lightly.

The dead might not be evil. But the spirits that come with them may not have good intentions.
