Did you ever play with a ouija board? What happened?

I never did,

I was too scared.

And I have delusions about the paranormal.

Did you?

I don’t even know what an ouija board is but… I can’t watch paranormal horror films. They make me scared at night etc.

I also worry it would feed into future psychosis if it ever happened again.

I owned one… but I never used it

Yes, in the 5th grade at my friend Molly’s sleepover party.

We asked it questions and it gave us answers. I confess that I did a lot of the pushing of the planchette.

2 of the girls ended up calling their parents to pick them up because they were so scared.

I’ve been into the occult since I was about 20. But I was always too scared to mess with an ouija board.

I used to do readings and considered myself a medium.
I owned a ouija board and used it all the time.

Scary stuff indeed!

Haha! I love this topic. I’ve never touched one but according to the mystic and occult historian, Mitch Horowitz, the Ouija board is a big part of American culture.

My brother and his friend messed around with one though many years back. To this day my brother is frightened of them.

About a year ago radio talk show host Clyde Lewis had a Ouija board and medium on his show.

Doubt they work and if they do I got enough trouble in my life, don’t need angry dead people chasing me

It told me to drink a lot of booze, so I did.

Being honest, I think it would have happened anyhow.

Played with them, summoned a ghost, trapped it by taking its picture with a magic Polaroid.

It was a whole adventure.

When I was 16. It was me, my ex-stepmom, and a guy she let me bring over as a date.

It started out spelling normally before quickly turning into gibberish. The one candle between me and the dude kept going out, but only that candle.

This was my mom’s old ouija board, and she’d died, so I figured it was likely just her ■■■■■■■ with me.

I don’t think I could ■■■■ with one of them now, even with doing proper openings and closings like I did back then.

I once used a Ouija Board to summon the spirit of Marylin Monroe!

But something went terribly wrong and Carrot Top appeared…

oh this reminds me of the scariest parts of the Exorcist when Regan is playing alone with a ouija board and her mom said can I play and she said, “captain howdy says no”…

Does the Ouija board take 2 people?

In the eighth grade someone brought one to school. I tried my hand at it. The plectrum(?) started moving. I , the unbeliever held it back. The other person stopped. Said I was stopping it. Said it was for real.

I went back to my desk and ate Thin Mints girl scout cookies and wouldn’t give one to any one.

One of the few things I remember from science class -

Yes it usually takes at least 2 people.
I no longer own or posses a ouija board.

Nope. Don’t mess with anything dark.

The psychology behind ouija boards is interesting, especially the ideomotor effect. I dont personally believe it’s possible to talk to the dead with one, but I won’t talk bad about anyone who does. Annecdotally I’ve used them a lot and nothing ever happened unless we were looking for something to happen.

I used to be big into ghost hunting and the paranormal, but stopped going on investigations after my onset of psychosis.

I played as kids in a cemetery and freaked out. Not sure what was scarier the Quiji or being in the dark at a cemetary.
