May I ask you, how long have you had SZ?

1975-1983/1988 (DX changed sometime between 83 and 88)
1983/88 - 2005 Schizoaffective mixed type mostly.Occasionally bipolar.
2005- 2018 Personality disorders
2018- Best fit reckoned to be ASD and schizophrenia
2019- Asperger’s dx .

  • Major Depression (severe)

Were you treated when the illness began? Or, was it insidious and went untreated for awhile? Just curious.

I was seeing a pdoc from the autumn of 1973. I was put on Anafranil. The sz dx came around May 1975.

Okay, but do you think you had SZ much before the diagnosis?
Delusions can go by unnoticed with some people, especially with Social Anxiety. It happened with me.

I have been schizophrenic since 1997. The first diagnosis psychotic depression than change to bipolar. I have been PTSD since 1978

Or, you think you had it from before, and were diagnosed later?

Hard to tell. I think the signs of depression were more prominent .

I believe I have had sz from the age 8. That was why I had sexual abuse and spiritual abuse. My mom didn’t believe in modern psychiatrist and she was a true believer in the church. I went through the military and got married but it was hard to hide all this from them but my wife at the time was a big help. So after military and I worked as jet engine mechanic as a civilian for the air Force. That is the time I started being diagnosis.

I have schizophrenia only

I am wondering if bad genes come together or there is some other issue at play here. I have a theory; I want to be able to test it in future.

So, if you had Depression before, and were subsequently diagnosed with Schizoaffective Disorder, it means you were ill from before I think.

I was more Bipolar from childhood. SZ symptoms came slightly before the age of 17. It means I had the Schzizoaffective from before, just that the other symptoms manifested themselves later in life.

That would be my interpretation.

Do you think Schizoaffective is one glitch or two problems, Bipolar and Schizophrenia separately?
