hi, last week i had my counselling class and i was very depressed, the class really helped it tho and later after we did some written work we were on to group work (sitting around in a circle) so i started talking about the week before and how i felt bad about how it went and how i felt about it, and people were very understanding so then i thought it was a good time to come out about my mental illness and i told the group that i take a low dose of medication to keep me calm and on a level, again they were very understanding and sympathetic, it was good to get it out bc i didn’t want to keep things from people, i wanted to be honest.

I am glad that you got a positive response to your mental status. It can go a long way toward developing more positive relationships with others. Keep us posted how this experience is going for you. You are blazing a trail!
