Nice! Still, i’ll never understand why Americans hold on to their guns like a limpets. We gave up our guns and there’s been no mass or school shootings since. Oh well.

We just had a mass shooting on the news right now - it was live streamed - kind of sick.
I’m not reading or watching the news or looking for the stream - but that just happened.
This feels like we are living in black mirror. Horrific.

Just hearing about Buffalo this morning. I’m white and most of my neighbors are African American. I don’t need crazy racist persons shooting the place up or the grocery store I shop in with mostly African American customers. Even with these crazy racist nuts I have been treated very well and shown the upmost respect. I guess crazy nuts like this would especially target me for getting along with black people. Enough is enough with these racist nuts.

It seems there’s multiple types of motives for this type of event. Some may be racist. Some may have other intent. But either way it’s gotta stop. Growing up kids in my grade were racist and mostly were white. I wasn’t racist tho. I just wish for peace and love. But it doesn’t seem common anymore in our world.

A lot of Americans say “you can TRY to take my guns.” I don’t see what’s so great about owning a gun. In my state we had strict gun restrictions after Sandy hook and gun returns where you can drop off your guns and tons of Ppl did and it’s been beneficial. I had to sign a waiver when I left the hospital I can’t own a gun.
Although in other states it might be harder to take their guns. We were turned off to guns by Sandy hook a lot…

With the serial killer targeting older people here, I kinda wished I had a gun and knew how to shoot. But I settled for some pepper spray which is legal here. The serial killer is stabbing random older people going down the street or waiting at bus stops.

Thanks @Jonnybegood. When I went to the grocery store yesterday, the police have setup temporary surveillance cameras in the parking lot. My grocery store is a lot like the one in Buffalo. I was wondering yesterday what was going on.

The gunman was radicalized on a site called called 4****. It’s a site messaging board where there is no moderation and any content can be posted. I assume it’s the ultimate freedom of speech site besides the dark web. Well he got all his ideas about races and racism there and guns and violence and ideology there.
Tons of kids doing this stuff believe in this stuff are on there freely learning and sharing this. It’s there for anyone to see. Just don’t cause it’s an vial and horrific place to be. But if people want no moderation and see how anything goes speech. There are already places for that and you get terrorists.
The thing is these sites are legal. So I guess nothing can be done.

Not really - he wrote a manifesto to encourage more of these acts - and move the movement forward. This type of stuff are not allowed on mainstream sites. The live-streaming. This stuff in his manifesto that he hopes to spread are all ideas discussed on unmoderated sites in the open.
My question is should his manifesto be shared publicly to the mainstream or ban it.
As of now his manifesto is banned off all google drives, Dropbox etc. cause of the content. Should the public be allowed to access this in the name of freedom of speech? It is already out there on previously mentioned site.
So is this manifesto dangerous or positive to share to the public?

In Norway you have to take a hunter certification to get a gun, and you have to have no criminal record. If you pass the hunter course you are allowed a rifle or shotgun. This has to go smooth for about two years I think, then you can apply to get a a pistol if you want. Automatic weapons are banned.
Also the police doesen’t carry firearms unless they know they are going into a situation where a suspect is armed. They have to get permission from HQ to arm themselves. However with increasing terror threat and more shooting related deaths we are trending towards permanent arming of the police.

Yeah - I’m not into owning guns. I would like that for the US.
But, It’s really a lost cause IMO about the US gun ownership. People want their guns here.
Our gun laws are useless - For the US - NY has one of the more stricter gun laws.
The shooter outlines exactly how to bypass loophole laws to get everything you need to pull off another shooting. His motive is to spark more. Mind you he is 18 yo. Radicalized by the internet.

Yeah, it’s so ingrained in the US culture. Hundreds of years with the right to bear arms. It’s almost impossible to change that now I guess. And when everyone else has a gun you will feel safer with one yourself. If I lived in the US I might have considered getting a gun for protection.

Problem is then - if everyone arms up - its like a culture of violence. That’s the quandary. Think ownership in the US is 30%
Also self harm - the idea that I myself having a gun is dangerous for me. Also what if I have homocidal ideation. Too risky.
