For those of you who are in AA, NA, or other recovery group, do you think it’s over now that I’ve been without alcohol for over a year. It seems pretty easy now going without a drink, but I don’t know if I should let my guard down. Have you ever been hit with an urge to drink after a year?
That’s fantastic - so proud of you.
I had periodic urges to drink over the first five years for sure. Now I look at booze the same way that others look at drain cleaner.
Thanks @shutterbug It’s been much better since I moved October 2021 and am not living with people who drink and get drunk all the time. I haven’t seen a soul coming into my new apartment building with alcohol or drinking. It’s really nice now.
Thanks @Wave I appreciate it.
Well done. I’m quite proud of you.
Thanks @anon55031185 I’m glad to hear you are a mod now.
Congratulations!

One year and one month since I took Heroin Im not an addict, or i dont like that term I prefer saying Im recovering from substance use issues but I almost died and I havent touched heroin since that day in 2021 the same day My dad chose to quit smoking for my sake and because I almost died–he said he quit smoking for me–. Congratulations on your recovery strength and sobriety.my dad is clean one year and 2 months or so from moking all nicotine from chew/smoking and he started like at age 13 I am so happy for him i can see him happier and healthier i pray for him all the time to be strong and have faith in himself. I am clean from cigarettes one week or so. I am clean from anything for one week.
