One can think one loves when, in actuality, one doesn't

Love is shown in ones behavior to someone. It is not just a state of mind. Notice the flaws in thinking.

True. Without behavior according to love, that someone wouldn’t know. The behavior can also be non-verbal.

I disagree, love is a state of mind. Nobody has to prove their love through action.

its hard to prove your love when your psychotic, depressed, or in pain but the love is still there. my dad keeps pulling out this card that i dont show him enough that i appreciate him and he doesnt understand what brain damage means. i know at my inner core i want to help out more cut the grass etc but im bombarded with emotional pain, dont even seem to have the same mental pathways as before etc.

its like taking away all roads, gps and maps and telling someome to drive to georgia. shits broken up there its not just a state of mind

Who you love matter more than who loves you.

A problem with many is the thinking that if they get into a relationship all their problems will just magically go away.

To me, you are referring to a fantasy relationship.

So what proof do you require from someone who says they love you?

If I am happy to be with them in a practical way.

I’ve never had this problem…I fell hard for another way too young…knowing what it is to feel this way about another person took a lot of this confusion out of the equation for me…when it happens again I’ll know it but I’ll tell you those feelings don’t come easy for me.

Whether it was as you said practical or even impractical and on a whim I loved none of those I was with in my 20’s…so for me I’ve loved two human beings in this manner…all others were friends of sorts…not that I’ve never loved a friend…just not in the same way.
